Nicolas Rüffin

Nicolas Rüffin currently is a visiting researcher of the President’s Research Group at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. He is a doctoral candidate in Sociology at Kassel University, Germany where he investigates conditions for successful large-scale international research collaborations. His work is funded by a scholarship from sdw – Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft. Previously he received degrees in science studies from Humboldt-University in Berlin and in business psychology from the University of Bochum.

From 2016 to 2019, Nicolas was a research fellow with the EL-CSID – European Leadership in Cultural, Science and Innovation Diplomacy project. He has worked on various facets of science diplomacy, including issues of multi-level governance in the EU, science and innovation diplomacy agencies, and science and technology agreements.
